ceylon hand pick Cloves

Every single clove cluster is picked gently by hand to protect the tree for future seasons.
Once harvested, the real labor of love begins. Our workers carefully separate the buds from their stems by hand. They then spread the cloves across clean mats to dry naturally under the tropical sun. As the moisture evaporates, the buds transform into the deep, rich, reddish-brown spikes known and loved worldwide.
Before they are packed, the cloves undergo one final, rigorous round of hand-sorting. Only the boldest, full-headed, undamaged cloves make the cut. The broken pieces, empty heads, and dust are entirely removed.

The creation of our cinnamon quills is an ancient art passed down through families. It cannot be done by machines. Our artisans choose mature shoots of the Cinnamomum verum tree at the break of dawn, when the bark is most hydrated.
With incredible precision, they peel away the rough outer layer, exposing the golden, paper-thin inner bark. While still wet, this delicate bark is manually rolled, layer upon layer, into a single, tight, multi-layered quill. As it naturally dries under the sun, it cures into a beautiful, fragile, tan-colored cigar shape.
